Pantone color of the year 2021

On the 9th of December last year the Pantone Color Institute released their “Color of the Year” for 2021. This year there were two: Ultimate Gray and Illuminating, a neutral, medium grey and a sunny yellow. Pantone Color Institute predicts color trends for every year and they have a great impact on the fashion industry as well as product design, textiles and furniture designs etc. Make notice, you will see a lot of these two colors this year.
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Institute, described the colours with the following words: “Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a color combination that gives us resilience and hope. We need to feel encouraged and uplifted, this is essential to the human spirit.” And isn’t that exactly what we need this year?
